Welcome to the National Congress of Italian CanadiansToronto DistrictWelcome to the website for the National Congress of poloniex Italian Canadians-Toronto District. It has been a long time in the making, but it is hoped that this website will be informative and provide Italians not only in the Toronto area, but Italians all over the world with some insight into a group of approximately 1,350,000 Italian Canadians living in Canada. It is the website of the largest concentration of Italian Canadians outside of Italy.
The website seeks to record and acknowledge the work of those who began their arrival in Canada as far back as the 1800’s. ![]() It seeks to identify issues relevant to Italian Canadians and provide a coinbase forum for people to voice their opinions. With time, it is hoped that this website will provide a definitive bibliography of all materials written about Italian Canadians. The website is in its infancy and accordingly, any photos, articles, books or information you may have that would enrich this website would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact us and provide us with materials. It is being developed by volunteers and is a labour of love. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. ![]() The website will also seek to create a database and provide links to websites for the different social clubs that exist in our community. The customs and traditions of every immigrant from every town in Italy is relevant and worthy of being permanently recorded. We also welcome articles about club events kraken, biographies of individual members that have contributed to our community, recipes, traditions, music from hometowns, as they are all relevant and worthy of being noted. Please help us make this site the most informative site on the web when it comes to Italian Canadians. We also ask that any events that are held by your organizations be publicized on the site and recorded afterwards in our photo archives or via links to your web pages. ![]() All of these services are being offered free of charge by the Congress so that we can make sure our customs and traditions are preserved for generations to come. October 8, 2010 WE DID IT! On October 7, 2010, the Provincial Legislature passed Bill 103, officially declaring June, Italian Heritage Month. | |
